I have seen the silver browns in Blue and in Flaming Gorge. Some people think they are the lock laven strain, but I'm skeptical. Probably just a small varietal difference. Maybe be due to diet.

Well the 10 pounders were pretty tight lipped. They acted like they were just grabbing the tail to take a taste. They might be more active on a cloudy day.

Well don't bother as that is where I sent most of yesterday. Had two ticks on a downsized 2" Mr. Crappie shad body. Not even a looker at the HD. Only charted 5 fish.

Hit Vega last saturday and managed 18 between the two of us. Nothing of size and about equal numbers of cutts and rbt. Open water fished at Angler's Stairwell. All of my fish came on chart....

I just saw a report from a reliable source that Island Lake is frozen and fishable. Break out the ice cleats. No snow on the ice.

I have been working so don't have an update on ice but I would guess that some of the lakes on the east end of Grand Mesa would be capped. Ones that are steep on the south side would be the best...

That's sad. In the old days it was 99% rainbows most of the year with browns kicking in from Sept to Nov. Have you tried the very end on the runs where the water barely moves? Juniata is kicking...
