Hair Jigs

I've been having a good time fishing the jerkbaits but can't wait to have one of my best fish catchers(hair jigs) get into the mix! Here's a few that I tied recently.I'm getting a little better but still need a little improvement on my tieshttps://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/64...924/tOu95V.jpg!

There are some fly tying dudes around this area that can show you some tricks. My fly tying skills are on par with my rod repair. It doesn't look good but it wont come undone.

Good color selections. That is all that counts. Fish don't care how they look.

Thx,the black on black, the orange and black, and the green and black have been my best producers. The other colors are ready to prove themselves soon hopefully? I would like to improve on my wraps but like Pathway stated colors are key to try to imitate what they're feeding on.The orange and black is probably the best color for numbers and variety of trout species so far.

You are missing a gray with pink.

I might have to look into trying that combo?

Minnow are often gray to white when dying and the pink would look like blood. In the fall, fathead minnows get a red stripe on their lateral line. Pink is one of my go to colors in anything.

That is some good advice,I will definitely try and get those colors for fall! Thank you! I went to the UNC today and fished for a while before the rain came down in sheets! I did manage one decent 17" on the black and orange hair, the other was a nice 18" on a brown trout J-Spec.I lost a 19"+ cutthroat in the current. The water is still flowing pretty fast,I think next month it should be the start of prime time! https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/45...923/qjUmzd.jpg

Nice fish. Before the dam the Unc only produced small skinny browns. It's a tough time of year to fish with the monsoon going on.
Got into a few nice crappie at RG last week. Hair jigs would work on them as well.
