Critical Meeting State Parks!!

A must attend meeting for us all. This is a great opportunity to show State Parks what we feel should start being a priority.

22 days to get organized. This is a big opportunity for us.

EVENT:Have Say in How You’ll Play: Grand JunctionDATE:3/30/2010 6:00 pmDETAILS:Grand Junction at the Courtyard Marriott, 765 Horizon Drive.

Colorado State Parks invites the public to “Have a Say in How You’ll Play” by attending one of five public meetings scheduled in the state’s major metropolitan regions during the month of March. Public input is needed to help guide development of the state parks’ 2010-2014 Strategic Plan, which will outline the agency’s top priorities and objectives for the next five years.

As you prepare, keep in mind that the state parks department has little or no say in the fisheries. That is all the DOW.

State parks has quite a bit to say and work closely with the DOW. They have a great deal t say about what money is apportioned where and meeting is about what the consumer wants.

If State Parks can understand our desire to have warm water fishing is a priority at our state parks again then we need to let them know that's what we want them to do.

I was thinking, not counting the feds and the removals state parks probably has more say than any other body other than DOW as to how the fishery will be managed.

They sure as hell preach that they do right down to what you should be catching/killing and releasing. They feed and propogandize people the DOW's bio BS at the entrance's and the lakes all year long. And don't get me started on the new boogy man zebra mussels checks.

Job Justification. F this subject pisses me off almost as bad as the river and pond killers. I could go on a hysterical rant about the parks and waste of money and BS they make up for days.

Did I say I am not buying a parks pass either?

I would like to donate a few cases of new binoculars to the Park Service. It bothers me that at times, someone may do something that they may not see.

Cochies - You are probably right in saying that they have more say than any other body, I'm just not sure the DOW cares. I could be wrong, it happened before. If the parks understand what we want, they might be able to help get infrastructure installed to help keep the warm water fish. I have just been disappointed with the park's knowledge, or more importantly, lack there of, of the fish in the lake they manage the recreation on.

I wholeheartedly agree with your post. And again exactly why I want a big showing at this meeting.
