Brook Trout bag limit

So I was reading the fishing brochure and I noticed the brook trout bag limit. It says: 10 brook trout 8" or less in addition to the trout in aggregate limit which is four. So does that mean you can keep 14 brookies, or just ten brookies in addition to 4 other trout of a different species? And they all have to be under 8"?

Sort of. You can keep 10 brookies under 8 inches, plus 4 other trout. They can be brookies under or over 8 inches, or it could be other trout species.

Brookies will over populate and stunt the growth of the body of water by shear numbers.

I've always wondered the same thing, glad to know, my hardest part is actually catching a brookie under 8".

Unless it is Crawford's panfish then it's a whole new excuse. Just ask Kowalski.

If you are brookie fishing you can keep 10 brookies 8" or under in addition to four brookies over 8". Or as the others said, it can be 10 brookies 8" or under and four trout in the aggregate (mixed species bag) and that can include brookies over 8".

You explained it perfect Ice. I wasn't sure if you could keep 4 8"+ after your first ten.
